Amazingly our hand me down pile is starting to dwindle as the girls get older. I thought for sure there was an overabundance of PJ's in the attic until I did my seasonal digging. Nothing! Which was fine with me because it gave me an excuse to make Ella something. Lately her favorite color is orange and she is still in love with Dinosaurs; I found really cute Stegosaurus buttons at Jo Annes and picked up an orange knit at the fabric outlet. It was really easy to work with and it reminds me of a seventies leisure suit. She said they were really comfortable and seemed to be really excited about them! She even posed for me for once.

Squeezing it all in

In between my hectic day and closing the month for work, looking for a new job and taking care of the family I've paused to take a look at how overgrown my garden has become!!! Seriously! It must be all the rain we had this year, I planted Coleus around my water fountain and they have taken over. I've been clipping them here and there to take in the house for arrangements but I had to take five and give them a complete hair cut. I put the extras in ball jars and set them down in my bigger planters to fill in the gaps as things are starting to die. God forbid I throw them away, I'm a dork but it just made me feel bad to throw something so pretty in the compost heap.

It's been amazing to me how fast the garden has grown, the Susan's and the mums have just about taken over which means fall transplant time. If anyone has tips on the right way to do this please clue me in to any secrets you might have.

I'm also looking for additional information on seed propagation, I'm tired of giving
"the man" (lowes and HD) my money for plants each year. If anyone knows of a good resource for basic seed propagation I would love to read up a little more.

I've also started Ella's PJ's, she has claimed her new fav color to be Orange (she is so cool!) so I bought a knit and of course picked up dinosaur buttons to go with. I'll post pics once I'm further along. I'll be finishing them up hopefully at my Thursday night sewing group, "Sewserious".

Getting Started

Most recently I entered the girls into a baby parade which required outfits!! My main reason for doing this of course! Per my hubbies request my girls where Little Bo Peep and her lost sheep. Thanks to my friend April I found a new fabric outlet in the area and I was able to save a ton on fabric. I've noticed fabric is getting really expensive anymore so I've tried to be more thrifty and use bed sheets, pillow cases, shams and left overs found at the thrift store. Now that winter is here I'll have to rely on the coupons at Jo Annes. Back to the outifits! I was really happy with the way they turned out and we will be getting a lot of use out of them this year.

Where do others get fabric from?
